Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

This Day/Arise: African Fashion Collective
Black models dominated the runways of New York Fashion Week last night as the This Day/Arise: African Fashion Collective included the likes of Chanel Iman, Arlenis Sosa, even Tyson Beckford! But the most impressive feat of all was the amount of Jamaican models who were a part of the presentation- Sigail Currie, Raschelle Osbourne, Gaye McDonald, Jeneil Williams, Sheena Moulton, Sosheba Griffiths and Trissan Holder all walked with the likes of Coco Rocha and Sessilee Lopez. Well done, girls!
