Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

PPQ 2010 Spring/Summer Collection
In a collection that may have lacked zing, Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker paraded black cotton sundresses with mosaic-like prints, monochrome jumpsuits and swimsuits. There were some elegant pieces, including a long coral-colored maxidress, but what caught my attention was the usage of black models- Jeneil Williams (now making her rounds in London), Oreintha Russell, Sessilee Lopez et al.
