Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Caroline Herrera 2010 Spring/Summer Collection
Herrera’s design philosophy has always been about making women look their most beautiful- it was the order of the day at her spring/summer show. Her Japanese basket fascination revealed itself in endless fabric treatments (raffia, burlap, open weaves, tree-bark jacquards), rope tricks, most around the models’ waists, a few shots of amethyst.
