Jason Wu 2010 Spring/Summer Collection

To have Anna Wintour seated in the front-row, it would have to be a major event, and major it was for Jason Wu's 2010 spring/summer collection in New York this afternoon.
With the richest colours displayed in any show this season so far, Wu gave Wintour, and other patrons, bloggers and industry people, plenty to smile about.
Remember that frothy, one-shouldered white gown First Lady Michelle Obama chose to wear to the inaugural ball earlier this year? That was Jason Wu. So one can easily see his importance in fashion today. Presented in an elegant ballroom at the St. Regis Hotel today, the collection had the same lightness as that famous gown, starting with an off-the-shoulder number in silk tweed as soft as mohair, in a shade that brought to mind a fuzzy peach.
Offering plenty of mouth-watering eye-candy (now there's a mixed metaphor if ever I heard one). Wu showed a bevy of cheerful one-shouldered cocktail frocks, their tulip shapes, fantastic drapery and short lengths hinting at the '80s trend. One of the best had a blue ostrich feather sash, another was draped in cellophane-like fabric.
Wu knows that the best remedy for a depressed economy is practical, cheery clothes, and his collection was full of them.
