With a couture-like approach, designer Georges Chakra presented his 2010 Spring/Summer collection for New York Fashion Week at 11 a.m. this morning.
The collection was basically about different takes on "the dress"... the same shape and basic design of a dress, but with different details to switch it up. Odd, bright colors abounded and fabric as well as some pretty funky, dare I say edgy, straps and detailing.
A huge chunk of the collection came across as a bit prom-esque, but one supposes that that happens when you take bright colors, sheer fabrics, and sparkles and proceed to make formal dresses.
