Peter Som Fall/Winter 2010 RTW

Who says the bohemian can't be chic and sexy, too? Peter Som gave us good reason why she can! Think metallic, silk-jacquards, trench-coats trimmed with fox, silks printed in violet and pink florals, feather skirts with velvet waistbands, shimmering knits – and then imagine it all piled together, with wild, whimsical abandon. It might all sound a bit much, but it worked!

"I want clothes to be happy,” Som said in a backstage interview, and happy they were- a black broadtail jacket embroidered with a silver eagle, finished with lime and gold brocade sleeves, worn with a purple lamé skirt; a marl-knit cardigan in grey, narrow-belted over an ankle-length, floral chiffon skirt; even little cardigan-jackets embroidered in twinkling crystal flowers.
An eclectic collection rich in color, texture, and whimsy. Som is emerging as the freshest mix-master on the block — my eyes could not keep up with the multitude of fantastic clothes.
