Marchesa Fall/Winter 2010 RTW

Inspired by the performer and courtesan Lola Montez and her travels and quest for love, the Fall collection for Marchesa was full of the usual tulle, ruffles, lace and 3D volume.

 

There was a welcome sense of whimsy, with a feeling of girlish romance inducing sharp intakes of breath. But that's really nothing new for the house. Even at their worst, the Marchesa brand has become synonymous with fairytale-esque pieces and visions.

 

There were a few colours that popped, too; red-carpet numbers that should ensure the attention desired.
