Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Jeremy Laing Fall/Winter 2010 RTW
Though there was still plenty of volume, Laing was savvy enough to shift away from his usual complicated architectural silhouettes he has emphasized in the past to focus more on texture and surface. Word is, the Pacific Northwest forest inspired Laing, who used tree moss as a print for a column dress, and coyote and beaver as trim on square-cut wool jackets treated to look like leather.
