Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Versace 2010 Spring/Summer Menswear Collection
There was a certain sophistication evident in the designs for the Versace menswear collection- linen, leather, even a jacket in matte alligator. There was also a sort of safari-type exoticism that linked the pieces, evident in its prints and earthy tones, and the relaxed feel of the entire collection.
This was a collection that didn't rely on the trendiness of, say denim or skinny pants, but instead offering pieces that arguably transcend the very coolness of the label itself.
