Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Prada 2010 Spring/Summer Menswear Collection
I was not particularly impressed with the Prada menswear collection, however, two things did earn my interest- though i'm never particularly too fond of too much dark shading for Spring/Summer, I have to admit I loved the monochromatic colouring of the pieces. Maybe it was the metallic tint of the jackets and suits that caused it not to look too anti-sunny...
The other aspect of the collection that I loved was the layering of the pieces themselves. One particular look had a model donning neck-tie, shirt, vest, cardigan and jacket. Now, while that may be a bit much for summer, the versatility that layering adds to a look is never a questionable.
