Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Viktor & Rolf 2010 Resort Collection
I especially liked the female-male (masculine-feminine) dichotomy evident in Viktor & Rolf's collection. Always known for their attention to detailing, designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren experimented with draping and ruches, creating some very memorable pants. Some very interesting little black dresses cae towards the end of the collection, showing the adaptability of the designers.
Known for their gimmicks as much as the brilliance of their creations, the collection was suprisingly gimmick-free and straight-forward. In this case, straight-forwardness is great.
