Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Dior Homme 2010 Spring/Summer Menswear Collection
Influenced by climatic change, the collection for Dior Homme was replete with ultra-light tailoring and a sort of gym-influence body consciousness.
The collection kept the colours basic (swinging between black and white), and served the line's signature every-day athleticism- mesh top under a sheer cardigan, or knits woven in the lightest gauge, with the footwear a hefty high-top etc.
The shirt-weight tailoring was a new development, and the translucence of a parka over a sleeveless jacket ensnared a couple of the season's trends.
I loved the fabrics used and how appropriate for the season they are. Also loved the subtle layering of pieces and the looks were heightened as a result.
