Celine Pre-Fall 2011

When Phoebe Philo was awarded the Designer of the Year honor from the British Fashion Council last month, it was no fluke. This is a major designer, major, and the luxury French house Celine is but her playground.
With plenty of statement coats, from wool to animal print and quite possibly every colour in between, Philo's clothes look simple. But trust, they are deceptively so. Nothing this flawless, no matter how understated and minimal, could ever be simple. Inspiration ranged from Japanese-style colour-blocking and the sartorial 50's, touching on everything from subtle origami, patchwork and metallics.
