Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2011
Updating his more masculine collections for the house of Balenciaga with feminine functionality, designer Nicolas Ghesquière comes up with another winning set of chic pieces. With tank dresses, fur jackets, tunic dresses and Indian-esque prints, the designer emphasized outerwear in what may be his trendiest collection yet. Speaking of outerwear, the jackets and coats were lovely, particularly a navy peacoat with a shearling collar, and the reversible bombers.
