Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2011 Menswear
Steeped in classic Englishwear, the McQueen collection from Sarah Burton was eye-catching, to say the least. With an emphasis on big, tailored, statement coats, Burton riffed on influences as inter-connected as the Napoleonic Era, World War 2, and the military.
Naturally, there were some gorgeous suits in between all the cheekiness and drama, this is McQueen after all, but this was a collection that proves that menswear doesn't have to mean "boring."
