Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Narciso Rodriguez Fall/Winter 2011
With some graphic prints here and there, and some rather nifty colour- blocking, the Fall 2011 collection from Narciso Rodriguez was kept to a mostly away-from-the-body silhouette motif. Silk, wool and chiffon were all juxtaposed against midnight blues, lavender and cobalt, with the end result being quite minimalistic but overtly urban and definitely latter-day Balenciaga-esque.
