Peter Som Spring/Summer 2011

If dowdy shades have dominated the spring collections so far, Peter Som provided, this afternoon, the exception. He started with a hot-pink, marble-print, high-neck shirt under a violet floral brocade dress, and followed that with colours such as "pool," ''hibiscus" and "popsicle."

The fashion insiders needed just that sort of energetic jolt, with retailers, editors, stylists and designers themselves anticipating a late night with Fashion's Night Out festivities planned all over the city.

I personally loved the colours! And with his girly, not-so-serious even flirtatious designs, Som really didn't disappoint me. Detailing too, whether on pockets or jacket lapels, as well as mismatched prints, added dimension and even an element of surprise to some excellently tailored pieces.

  1. Last September, we fell in love with the Peter Som Makeup Review showed with his S/S 07 collection for New York’s Fashion Week. After such great results, naturally we couldn’t wait to see what Som had in store for F/W 07 and he did not disappoint! For his fall show, Som teamed up with esteemed make-up artist Gucci Westman (Lancome’s artistic director) to create a gorgeous look for the season.
