Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2011

Aside from the satin interlude, I really dug this collection from MJ. It had all the right elements- colour, halter dresses, strapless jumpsuits, long flowy dresses... Indeed everything, giant fabric flowers included, seemed to reference 70's Parisian flair. If this all sounds a bit too YSL, well it was. But in the capable hands of Marc Jacobs, it was merely a reference point than a ripping off.

  1. love the 70s luxe/prostitutish feel to this collection. also enjoyed the tangerines and limes, very springtime. your runway reviews are great, will be keeping up with you. :)

  2. Thank you so much! Yes, I think this is MJ's most summer-y summer collection yet. It's so laid-back and effortless, to the untrained, unfashioned eye, i'm sure it comes across as simple and flat at times. But the the little details here and there prove it to be anything but, and the colours are just gorgeous. Thank you again.
