Since Lacroix himself cut ties with the label bearing his name after it went bankrupt and failed to find new investors, he hasn't been without freelance projects, designing uniforms for for French railway workers and such.
His label is chugging right along with its new designer, Sacha Walckhoff, who's been working at Lacroix since 1992. In an interview with Fashionista.com Walchoff said he hopes to revive couture, Lacroix's true passion, and women's ready-to-wear one day. But, "We must first pay the debts," he said. His first full collection for the house is menswear, produced under licensee. Pants cost $260 to $310, jackets cost $1,100 to $1,400, and suits cost $1,600 to $2,300. Here's a preview.
