Soft, delicate, lush was Valentino's Fall/Winter RTW collection, a noted improvement on their Spring/Summer outing.
Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri are taking the storied label and infusing it with new, youthful life. Having worked under Valentino himself, they're well aware of the house's romanticism, but they're determined to modernize it with a little life.
Starting with some gorgeous white pieces styled together with more gorgeous leather cropped jackets, the collection moved into black pieces, then the house's signature colour- red.
The two designers, having now made the label famous once more for its couture, has sought to infuse its
RTW collections with couture sensibilities, and how- gorgeous lace was patchworked with irreverent point d'esprit and leather mesh. My heart, however, swooned for the final gown- powdery nude and blood red.
