Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Fall 2012: Roberto Cavalli
I'm not usually a big fan of Roberto Cavalli's shows, but even I have to say that this one wowed me. Impeccably styled, the collection was luxurious and party-ready. Silhouettes were loose, with skirts mostly stopping about the knee or way, way below.
The juxtaposition of prints and textures created an impressive rock n' roll menagerie, and to top it all off, Naomi Campbell closed the show. Really; what more could we have asked for?
