Best and Worst Dressed: Golden Globes 2010

So last night, Hollywood's finest came out to celebrate one of the awards season's glitziest: the Golden Globes. The winners were interesting, to say the least, and so was the fashion. Some stunned, some flopped and some just plain had me like WTF?? Here's the best and worst of the red carpet.

Best Dressed

Anna Paquin glittered and bedazzled in a bejeweled gown by Stella McCartney. Fiance and co-star Stephen Moyer didn't look too shabby himself.

I hated the lipstick, but Cameron Diaz was gorgeous in Alexander McQueen.

Carey Mulligan may have gone home empty-handed last night thanks to Sandra Bullock, a damn shame in my eyes, but she looked gorgeous in strapless navy blue and organza Nina Ricci.

I can't stand to hear Penelope Cruz speak, but she's a gorgeous lady. She killed the red carpet once again in Giorgio Armani Prive.

Some said too much fabric, some said wrong colour. I say- fabulous! Winning her first Globe last night, Chloe Sevigny looked elegant in pale lilac Valentino gown.

It seems starring in The Devil Wears Prada has caused Miss Blunt, a nominee last night for her performance in The Young Victoria, to up her fashion game. Arriving with fiance John Krasinksi in a chiffon Dolce & Gabbana number= va va voom.

Hip-y girls, take note- THIS is how you do curvey on the red carpet. Christina Hendricks turned heads in this ruffled peach Christian Siriano get up.

Dunno who Glenn Close was wearing, but she manged to not look frumpy, yet look very age-appropriate. Well done.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is one of those few Hollywood actresses you can always depend on to look glamorous and sexy and chic on the red carpet, and last night was no different for her. Love the asymetrical cut and fish tail of this RM Rouland Mouret number, not to mention the peach.

Neil Patrick Harris arrived with boyfriend David Burtka and both looked snazzy in matching tuxedo's. Well done, boys.

Wow was all I could say when I saw Vera Farmiga. Dolce & Gabban does her good.

Lanvin gown, Brian Atwood pumps... January Jones was très très chic!

Mr. Gerard Butler may have played it safe, but that's fine. Safe is the best way to go for men on the red carpet and at formal events.

As an actress, Toni Collete is amazing, and she looked the part last night in this gold beaded Elie Saab couture piece.

And last night's BEST dressed was...

For the red carpet, this was a bold move and could have been a disaster for other stars. But you know what? Only Marion Cotillard could have pulled it off. Gorgeous colour, loving the peep of the lingerie (so you KNOW it's Dior Haute Couture). As an aside- I saw a flash of her nails during the telecast, they were all black :)

Worst Dressed

Amy Adams is a good actress. She's gotten some good roles recently, and I like her. But I didn't like her here. This Carolina Herrera dress screamed frumpy- wrong colour and the cut was wrong, too. And what's up with those orange pumps?

In Christian Lacroix, Diane Kruger looked like a flower. And I really don't mean that in a good way.

I really hated this Atelier Versace dress. REALLY. It looks like pieces of coral were growing from Drew Barrymore's hip and shoulder.

Even in Elie Saab, Fergie still looks cheap and tacky!

Yes, Gabourey Sidibe is a big girl, but no matter what size or shape you are, under arm sweat marks are not cute. I blame her stylist for this awful green frock! Hideous!

Jennifer Aniston looked like she just rolled out of bed in this Valentino dress. The slit was waaaaaaay too high for a formal event.

Halle Berry is a gorgeous woman, but I didn't care one way or the other for this dress.

I love Balenciaga and I love Julianne Moore, but yuck yuck YUCK to this dress!

Just when you thought Zoe Saldana could do no wrong, what with Star Trek and Avatar, she goes off and wears this Louis Vuitton mess. Kudos to her for not having ended up being eaten alive by all the ruffles.

Nicole Kidman should have given this Nina Ricci number to Halle. Pale on Pale just equals pale.

As evidenced her by Kate Hudson, Marchesa isn't for everyone.

Jessica Lange, I refuse to believe that old people aren't fashionable, too.

Someone needs to tell Mariah Carey that once you get past a certain age, you leave the Herve Leger alone.

Leona Lewis = LOL!!

You know what? I don't like Sandra Bullock, and she shouldn't have won that award last night. So i'm gonna take it out on her dress. Boo, Sandra! Booo!!

And the ABSOLUTE worst dressed of last night's proceedings is....

Tina Fey. I don't even WANT to know what she is wearing.
