Fashion in Jamaica and the region exists, much to my annoyance, almost outside of an international aesthetic. It's my desire, then, to build a bridge between what is innately cultural, and the international industry, all the while highlighting trends and shifts within both spheres.

Rip the Runway
With occasional flashes of purple and red, Alberta Ferretti's 2008 Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear collection reveled in subtle, understated Grecian opulence. Frail looking models paraded in even frailer looking draped creations flowing with every step. Pale hues, breathable fabrics, simple cuts and lots a lots a drapery were the order of the day.
