Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2010 Campaign

In one of the more controversial campaigns this season, the ad campaign for Dolce & Gabbana's Fall/Winter RTW 2010 collection stars Madonna in what many deem to be an airbrushed mess.

Madge is supposedly channeling actress Anna Magnani, and it's really not hard to see that the whole thing is paying homage to classic Italian film.

Shot by the legendary Steven Klein, with Mary Howard as set designer, the whole thing really does play like movie stills. Madonna looks gorgeous, the perfect embodiment of the Italian matriarch. My only drawback is everything is so damn well shot, i'm almost not paying attention to the clothes themselves. Almost.

It's a cause for celebration, really- supermodel Kylie Bax is back to her usual high-fashion antics! Photographed by Steven Klein, the black and white shots ably captures Kylie's larger-than-life-ness and notable sex appeal to her editorials. The acrobatic poses, expressive glances and sheer attitude that she brings to the table, remind me why she’s one of modeling’s true greats.

Another beautifully amazing editorial from Steven Klein for W magazine. Styled by Camilla Nickerson (more on her later), and modeled by Daisy Lowe and Georgia Frost, the inspiration seemed to have been some dystopian suburbia in the near future.

Say what you want about art imitating life, or about Madonna's continued obsession with religious iconography (Madonna finally sleeps with Jesus), but the pictures speak for themselves! BEAUTIFUL!
